![]() And the value of the information I got from them which helped the insurance make repairs and not write off the laverda was worth every penny of my subs. This will be my first time to a Laverda meet, although I think us "Zane" laverda owners may be looked down upon a little by the "Breganze" bunch..still I'm looking forward to it ![]()

| Re: Laverda Owners club Meet Yeah sort of...the history of Laverda is split into two section The "Breganze" bikes (named after the factory location) are the early ones upto 1980's, and include all the "classic" models such as the jota, 3c, 750 sfc....etc When the company was relaunched in the 90's the new factory was in "Zane".... If you think about Triumph the orginal company and the current one bear little in common, (only with Triumph the new company has been more successful than the later incarnation of Laverda). So there is a bit of "that's not a proper Laverda", and certianly the owners club literature is "Breganze" heavy. Still the Laverda "DNA" lives on as the engine developed for the new bike, which never got made as they went to the wall, found it's way into the Benelli triples. ![]() |

Less power, (due to different engine mapping and various different internals), different brake discs, different brake lines, I think it has different brake and clucth master cylinders (mine has radial master cylinders), different exhausts, diffrent forks (41mm not 43mm and with less adjustment), Different rearsets, and various other little things. These might seem like small detials but when added together they make a big difference.

| Re: Laverda Owners club Meet good to know that there is someone else with an interest in Zane Laverda's i have recently bought what i thought was a 650 formula only to find out it is a 1994 650 sport done to 650 formula spec and sprayed black, original colour was yellow. i believe it has has some of the upgrades done to the motor and has the cross over exhaust system fitted and eprom chipped and a pair of the loudest race cans i have heard but it does sound rather good but i don't think the neighbours will agree .. just got a few little jobs to do and sort some new tyres for it thats all. |
