mrs nevstahs ybr125 has a speedo issue i've not come across so far!!

the actual speed shown is spot on (according to the roadside speed traps). but the odo and trip are *WAY* off the mark showing almost double the miles expected for a known trip - ie. the ride into town is always about 9.5 miles (bike or car) yet her trip records close to 20! (cant remember the actual figure) its certainly well over 15.

any ideas whats gone wrong here? and if its home fixable? she's racking up the miles like a goodun!! apart from that its a spot-on bike!!
is this likely due to me not syncing the carbs properly? or something else?

it seems to run ok.. its not a knackered old oil burner or anything! tho there is 'quite a bit' of vibration under load at low revs - maybe crank/big end bearings?

I was comeing home today on my cpi gtr 50cc moped, half way through the journey home I stop at some traffic lights and suddenly my engine just goes off on me, now it was a really rainy day, alot of water splashing about my wheels and most likely getting to my engine which is at the bottum for all to see. My bike would not start up so i wheeled it of to the side for others to get past and i wait'ed 2min, I started it back up and it only needed 1 kick start and I was off again but along the way home there was an intermenting problem, I have had 1 before but I fixed it. My bike chuged for only a sec or 2 then went on normaly but It makes me think is there something wrong with my engine or was it just the water splashing around it, Am hopeing it was the water :)

If you could share your opinion about what could of caused it, what is your theroy to this?

Just to let you know it was a really bad day, my bike was sitting out in the rain and cold with non stop rain.

Thanks in advance:cool:
