Mobile / PC conflict

Over the past couple of months my PC has been freezing intermittently, resulting in a hard restart each and everytime. I've now come to realise that the cause is my mobile phone, which is a relief as it means I don't have to fork out for any hardware soon, but I'm clueless to what the conflict is as no other mobile has affected my PC like this before.

The PC freezes when my phone scans for the O2 network if it's within around 3ft of my base unit. The mouse is the first to go, followed by the keyboard and then Windows. I have no wireless devices installed in my PC and there's nothing evident in the system logs.

The bits and bobs for if anyone can see what might be the problem:

The culprit.
LG KP500 'Cookie' - Sh1t phone but it was cheap and I'm already on my fourth mobile this (incredibly clumsy) year. :o

The victim.
Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 Motherboard
AMD 5000+ Black Edition CPU
MSI (ATI) HD4670 Graphics Card
Creative Audigy SE Sound Card
Corsair XMS DDR2 (2x1GB)
3x SATA II HDD (Various manufacturers)
Corsair VX550 PSU
Windows Vista Business x64 w/ SP2 - Also tried an install of XP Pro w/ SP3.

Obviously the simple fix is to keep the phone away from the PC but it's easy to forget so I'm looking for a permanent fix if possible. I've had a look around Google but had no joy so far.

Thanks in advance. :D

i have a samsung U4 mp3 player and i installed the software to the PC and i can transfer files from the pc to the mp3 software, but i cant transfer the files from the mp3 software to the mp3 player

with the software,i have a list of options all of which work except for the " transfer to mobile device" which is the one i need to put files on the player

when i look in my computer the MP3 player is listed as a digital stills camera

when i plug the device into a usb port, i get "select a program from the list" thing, but the options are all for photo imaging and theres no mention of the samsung program i installed

any ideas?
