Closing threads. Just something I saw in the news section... would it be ok for the mods / admin to leave a thread open for 24 hours and just edit out anything that may be considered offensive instead of closing it ? I do feel that the topic I was reading went a bit personal etc.. but I went to bed early last night (the joys of having an 8 month old with a cold), therefore not being able to put my 2 penneth into the argument which I felt was valid. However I know the subject will crop up again, so I'll save it for then.

Re: Closing threads. UK Government Plan 2nd Offence Ban For Speeding Riders that one. dont really matter about opening it again as the subject is bound to crop up again, and I'll insert what I was going to say at a far more suitable spot.

Re: Closing threads. to hondaboy, sorry if you thought i was out of order calling your bike slow!the pokey tongue smiley was supposed to mean it was a bit of a jest. it did seem like we all jumped on you because of your opinion but most of us (and i'm purposely not including everyone) ride bikes because of their speed and acceleration, and do like to use that performance occasionally. nobody meant to cause offense but it is a contencious subject. cheers phil.

Re: Closing threads. At risk of sounding like an old schoolmam I'm surprised at the 'off topic' insults that were being hurled on that thread. I don't want to comment on the topic but felt a bit sorry for hondaboy; whether you agreed or disagreed with him, it was his opinion and some of the posts were harsh. Come on lads, lets keep it friendly. That's why we all like it on here. ![]()

I think you'll find that a lot were deleted and/ or edited before it was closed, I have to say it was a good discussion, just a shame it went pear shaped | |
