Re: Punctureseal am assuming b.j that this the stuff that is liquid in ya tyre ..then if ya get a puncture it solidifies in the hole on contact with the air ? right then ....what i,ve heard is that is doe,s the job temporarily, but fuks ya tyre and is a bastard when ya get home and try and get the puncture repaired properly. what i use when i,m off on the cont is a ...get this .puncture repair kit.WOW ! consist,s of a gougey thing that ya stick in the hole and twiddle about. a tube of glue stuff ( what ya stick in the hole.) and a rubber plug..that ya stick in the sticky hole. THEN .. here,s the clever bit ..a tyre inflater ..( o.k. so it,s a soda-syphon capsule) that blows ya tyre up .. BUT...spose to be permanant...so job done ! cost bout 12 squids i tink...and fit,s inside ya helmet ... i would,nt leave home without one... hope this helps m8..

Re: Punctureseal I used that tyre weld stuff as a 'preventative' measure years ago. to all intents & purposes it permanently sealed 2 punctures. against that I've heard tyre fitters complaining about the mess the stuff makes when you come to replace a tyre. also, less commonly - if you lay yer bike up for a few months with tyre weld in yer tyres AND NO PUNCTURE, then the tyre weld can semi solidify (don't ask me how when its not exposed to air ) massing in a particular part of yer wheel & affecting the wheel balance ![]()

Re: Punctureseal Hello, As a few peeps have said the Tiptop plugging kits are probably the best idea, they are small enough to fit under most seats and don't have the messy drawback of the preventative remedies. I heard a whisper that BMW are shipping certain new models with these. They retail at between £12 and £20 depending on brand and what's in the kit.

Been talking about this at work. Surely your tyre is already full of air? ![]() ![]() ![]() | |

Re: Punctureseal I had a puncture when leaving Le Mans for the ferry. Luckily I had one of the puncture repair kits. Managed to plug the hole and get enough pressure in the tire (about 15 PSI IIRC) from two of the gas cartridges. Was enought to get me to 3 garages, the last one being a bike tyre fitter. I chose a new tyre rather than get back from France on a DIY job. Still made the ferry on time ![]()
