Database error ?

Couldn't access the forum at all last night after 10-ish, kept saying there has been a "database error" please refresh your browser - which did nothing. It's just done it again, but this time I got in on the 3rd attempt

Re: Database error ?

I quite often get a page load error which takes forever on the re-try / re-send but have found that if I open a new browser it's fine, don't know why it happens though

Re: Database error ?

Possibly a hacking attempt looking at the logs, if this happens the mysql server shuts down as a safety measure to halt it. The other thing is that the database was overloaded in some way - same thing happens

Re: Database error ?

Anyone coming on the site would have had the same problems Deano, I have contacted the host and they are working on it as we speak. Looks like it was a server fault at their end

As far as I know, MySQL doesn't have a process where-by it shuts down in the event it detects an "attack", simply because it wouldn't know what an attack is, really.

Re: Database error ?

Sounds like a denial of service attack.
