As a novice you will almost certainly benefit having a manual.(Plus it'll give you oil capacity etc..)
Dead easy aslong as you keep every thing clean, most complicated thing would be if you have to fabricate a long "locking"shaft to stop things turning around when dismantling.& tbh that's simple aswell.
Pity you didn't know/mention last week, I'd would've nipped across from StH & done it for you.
Don't be afraid to tackle it,plenty of people on here will assist
& if you look hard enough & you'll find plenty of info online.
A quick search & I found this site, I'm sure you can even do better...

Re: how to change fork seals

this is the cheats way (not the correct way) but it works.

1. support the front end of the bike safely

2. you need to remove the fork leg from the yokes. remove front wheel/brake calipers/mudguard first

3.usually you would undo retaining bolt from damper(accessed from the bottom of fork leg) this would enable you to use fork slider as slide hammer and drift out seal after removing spring clip/retainer.

4.removing seal the phil way stab it and drag it out.being careful not to damage seal seat or slider chrome.

5.replace with new seal, in my method gently drift new seal into position with plastic drift, being careful not to distort seal or damage slider chrome

6.refit clip and dust seal, put bike back together

try it but be careful, i'm sure there will be an explanation of the correct way soon!
