Honda CG125 electrical fault hey all. just wondered if anyone had any experience with the CG125 electrics? my bike (2000 model) has got complete electrical failure. Battery is charged, but turn the key and nothing. Happened all of a sudden which is weird. I've got the wiring diagram and i'm trying to work through it without much luck at the moment. Just wondered if anyone had experienced this before? appreciate any advice you can give....

Re: Honda CG125 electrical fault thanks for speedy replies... there is no kill switch on this model. the charger i've been using is just something that was given to me. Its a 6v / 12v 2amp/8amp heavy duty battery charger. Don't know if this is any good or not but i've used it a few times before and its fine. Battery is reading like 5.6v (should be 6?) but when i turn the key it drops as if something not too good is happening. the bike has a kickstart - should it still start without the battery as it doesn't seem to be?

Re: Honda CG125 electrical fault I can tell ya its not yer kill switch then ![]() do you have a multimeter? if not yer gonna have to check carefully for a loose wire between battery & ignition, cos one may be shorting out on the frame or be loosely connected.

Re: Honda CG125 electrical fault It may not be this BUT the biggest killer of motorcycle batteries is over charging. Your battery is 6 volt and about 5 amp if you charge it with more than it can cope with the plates will warp, I would say the best bet would be to take it to your local bike shop and ask them if they have a MOTORCYCLE battery tester, this may not be the cause of your probs but a knackerd battery aint gonna help anything. I would try this route before anything else, if the shops a good one they should do this for free. Report back please as we like to get our members problems fixed (or if you find a fix please let us know).
