Question Fork extensions

How do… newbie signing in and straight in with a techie question, hope you don't mind?

Ok, I own an 82 Honda CB1100RC that I am restoring to mint (bloody hard and expensive work) and I also have collected enough bits over the years to get a streetfightered version on the go… and this is where I need some advice.

I have kitted out my spare frame with Yammie XJR1300 running gear - rear end was a piece of cake but the front end is causing me a problem.

The forks are only about 3mm shorter than the standard 1100R set up but are 4mm thicker in diameter of the tubes. I have used the XJR triple tree and had the 1100R stem mated up and it all fits a treat.

If I went for the standard handlebar configuration everything would be ok, but I want to re-create the 1100R clip on look and to do so I have to drop the forks in the clamps by an inch/inch and a half and this leaves the front end just a bit too low for my liking.

Does anyone know a company that produces fork tube extensions for the modern bike ranges. I have found plenty of chopper sites that offer 8" overs but thats way OTT for me, and searching t'interweb has come up with nada.

Anyone offer any advice/point me in the right direction?

Cheers in advance…

Andy
