| Rattling GS500 I bought a GS500E which is on a V plate, good condition all round when i bought it for £950. Other problems aside, Im most worried about my engine It sounds awfully tappety and loud. Im told its a twin and they sound like a bag of spanners. Honestly i dont know. Theres oil aplenty in there and ive done a change since i got it.Its not a bad bike really - i like it, easy to ride for an 18yr old whos just passed his test. All restricted and putting out 31.79bhp. (had to dyno run it since no certificate came with the bike showing it was restricted) Any advice helps! |

| Re: Rattling GS500 Worth checking the tappet clearances and the timing chain tensioner Phaelok as these two are common culprits for a noisy engine, the other thing it could be is piston slap (worn bores and pistons) but check the other two first. |
