choke/steeringlock/handlebars on a brandnew CG Can anyone clear up any of these problems? First bike and brand new..... Got my Honda CG125 today and its so smart I want to make sure Im handling it right.... Firstly the choke - the user book says choke pulled down = fully off First time I started it it fired up fine with the choke pulled down. Was expecting to need to use the choke...can anyone confirm which way is on and off?? Second, the steering lock doesnt work - shift the front wheel fully left, use the lock key, but still can move right and left ...! Lastly just a small gripe - the ends of both handle bars are loose and can be twisted...do these need to be fixed??? Any help appreciated...cant ride the thing yet anyway because it arrived on the wrong reg plate ! OH welll ![]()

Not sure about the choke position, the manual should be correct. Try pushing the key down before you twist. Are you talking about the grips or the bars them self? or the end weights? And lastly welcome to the forum ![]() | |

Re: choke/steeringlock/handlebars on a brandnew CG the end weights - i guess they dont need to be screwed tight...... when flicked up to choke on it doesnt fire up though, and when off it does - just confused me as i thought it should be the other way round especially for a cold engine the steering lock doesnt work no matter what combination of turns used! iv already snapped one key lock haha

Re: choke/steeringlock/handlebars on a brandnew CG thinking about it, if the engine was warm before it arrived on my door step, and i tried to get the motor going using the choke on, then it might explain why i later discovered a small puddle of petrol underneath the tank, and why it wasnt starting ......oooops just to clarify the loose bits are at the very end (===0000===) the brackets are the loose bits, the == are the grips and the 000 is the ...bike head ![]()

Re: choke/steeringlock/handlebars on a brandnew CG Hi and welcome to the forums ![]() As its brand new I would be back to the dealers and being politely unhappy - I was messed around by Wyder Honda in Warrington, promised all sorts and none of them materialized. ![]() Eventually after putting up with a lot of grief, I contacted Honda Customer Services (01753 590510 )and spoke to a very helpful lady called Sarah . She advised me to put all my complaints in writing and email them to the store manager and to copy it to her as well .Amazingly, by the next day, everything was sorted and because I was polite and didnt demand anything, other than to have my bike complete and everything I had been promised, I was offered free 4000 and 8000 miles services. So ..... thats what I would do! Good luck

Re: choke/steeringlock/handlebars on a brandnew CG Hey there =) I been riding my Honda CG for a couple months now and just wanted to clarify, the choke is indeed down for fully off, then half step and fully on when it pushed up - it confused me at first too with how the engine seems to react the opposite way. For a really cold morning though, choke up - 1/4 turn throttle and start then turn choke off works just fine! The bar ends are just like that, mine wont tighten either but its nothing to be worried about - they arent loose or anything. As for the steering lock.. well, all I can say is you have to push the key in then turn it, if that's what you're doing then I am at a loss with that!

Re: choke/steeringlock/handlebars on a brandnew CG I had a CBR 125 last year with manual choke, I found that about a quartete to half way out was enough, didn't need to use it though unless it was cold. With the steering lock, turn it fully to the left, but when you turn the key try to "depress it" as well. I'd be quite concearned if my hadlebars were moviving aroung and as it's new, get it back to the dealer and tell him your not happy and want it checked over, hope this helps and that you can start enjoying you freedom soon...
