Re: dtr 125 2004

Hi and welcome to the forums - would be nice if people could be polite enough to introduce themselves first before just stating whats wrong with their bikes - might even get more responses !

blocked air inlet
blocked air filter

choke stuck on

or ... stupid as it seems and dont laugh cos I once had something similar .....

dirty / knackered spark plug
timing out
incorrect fuel mix if a two stroke

lots of other things

Re: dtr 125 2004

2 stroke single w/c with powervalve.
err,, 'power valve opened' well there could be your problem if you've just done it?
power valve should only open at higher revs, having it stuck open all the time to get 'full power' doesn't work too well as you will get bogging down at low revs.
also if just rebuilt if it's piston ported is the piston in the right way round?
and is the head/barrel etc torqued down to the correct tightness?

personally i'd reset the powervalve to standard (reconnect it) and try that first.

i've got corner speed, it's control i struggle with!

Has your question been answered rody999_123?

Your next port of call should be the new members section where you can introduce yourself eh!

I'm not so nice. My advice would be to try putting sugar in the tank. I'm sure ther's a song that goes " A spoonfull of sugar helps the engine go round ." ( I'm joking, DON'T try this Grotbag!! )

Last edited by BLACKPANTHER : 08-02-2008 at 04:47 PM. Reason: There may be someone on this forum even less knowledgeable than me? who may actually have put sugar in their petrol tank!???
