| Can i take the cylinder head off with the spark plug still in it? Simple question, can i take the cylinder head off with the spark plug still in it? I got a serious probably, i got no 21mm spanners or sockets, so i cannot take the plug off, its totally impossible. I am stripping down my aprilia rally, going to do it up and then sell it. Rob |

| Re: Can i take the cylinder head off with the spark plug still in it? If you do take the head off with the plug in be careful when you put it down that there's nothing in the way that will flatten the tag against the electrode. It would be better if you could take the plug out though, and I'm sure you could get hold of a suitable socket form the likes of Halfords or Machine Mart for a couple of quid. A spark plug can tell you a lot about how an engine is running. Click me for spark plug colour guide Also invest in a set of plug feeler guages, as having the correct gap is very important too and can make a big difference in the running of an engine, small cylinders in particular. |
