Re: 50cc moped

so how do i test the spark plug , hold the plug with some pliers or something with a rubber handle , pop the ht lead onto the end of the spark plug , and then get some one to kick it over ?

will a spark still be created if the battery is flat?

Re: 50cc moped

had another look today , swapped the carb over to my other one which i knew works fine , so thats now not a worry that its the carb, how ever it doenst seem to be getting fuel now , no fuel in the filter at all , does the fuel pump need power in the battery for it to work , or will this opperate on the kick too?

may be this is my problem and its not getting fuel now

As i said before I not familiar with your model... but is it not gravity fed.. in the main fuel pumps on bikes are reserved for fuel injection models...try the fuel on "prime" setting

That sounds like the vacuum hose.. does it come from between the carb and before the engine??

It connects to the fuel tap and the pressure you feel opens a valve in the tap to let the petrol through.

To set to prime turn the petrol tap to the prime position. That will bypass the vacuum hose tho you will need to shove a bolt in the end of it to blank it off while you tinker.

Re: 50cc moped

hi mate the vacumme hose comes from off the engine , which is then connected to the fuel pump , unless i have followed the pipes wrong while refitting new engine , as thought the vaccume pipe would supply the presure from the bottom of the fuel pump , which would then pump it upwards into the pipes?
