on the subject of tyres

seems like I need a new rear before the scotland trip on friday. my local shop is too busy so I need to go further afield, and that being the case I could do with a 'while you wait service' - is this possible, normal?
local shop always want me to leave the bike there all day even for a 10min job

Re: on the subject of tyres

T. Elsey Ltd on the Showfield estate in Malton do tyres while you wait deno and they can usually get the tyre you want in within 24 hours. Look them up on Yell.com for the number if that's any help to you - Oh! And they're cheap!

If you're through our way, or off to see your mum, go to C&S in the Boro, they will sort you out while you wait.

It's chucking it down here, but if it stops, I might pop up to Lord Stones tonight (it's bike night if anyone's up for it)

I'll be at Terry's getting my back fixed and my front changed, £102.25 all in, (including the back puncture), but then I'll be off to York to take the wife shopping in the car

That's not a bad price on a BT021 rear, I'll be paying £117.50 all in when I come to get it changed.

Re: on the subject of tyres

new BT021 fitted per quote, scrubbed it in (well the middle 3" anyway ) and suddenly the notchy steering has disappeared - so head bearings aren't shot afterall - was just a badly squared off tyre
