Semi Vs Fully synthetic oil

Well...What is better?

Semi-synthetic or Ester based Fully Synthetic.

Cost £29 for 4 litres.

I just purchased for Ester based from "oilman" in Redruth.

Their service is good top notch.

And garages, do they tend to use the cheapest oil, or do they use mid-range oil? What is the likelyhood they are using top notch oil for services? (I ask due to arguement with a mate.)

Rob

re: Semi Vs Fully synthetic oil

Rob, sometimes the best isn't alway's the dearest, but have to say I wouldn't want an inferior product in my Bike, also I don't trust garages.... and apart from the banks I consider them to be one of the biggest robbers on the high street. I think it takes a good while to build trust between yourself and a good garage, I know this having driven cars for many years. Not much help I know, sorry pal

That is true of Laverdas when the clutch is getting towards the end of it's life. I stick roughly to the manufactures recommended oils in my machines, with a slight leaning toward semi synth

Not sure we are all here to help with your teenage rebellion Rob, you should know by now that your mum is always right! (even if she is wrong)
