'Lurchy' 125

I have a bit of a prob with my Suzuki Dr125. When setting off from a standstill, it lurches as though the clutch comes in really quick (embarrassing), but not when pottering off. Is this normal on a 'cheapie' bike? Does anyone else experience this? Cheers.

Re: 'Lurchy' 125

rev harder and slip the clutch more .. oil the clutch cable.. or it could be the lack of weight thats catching you out(heavy bike pulls away smoother)... im just making wild guesses as i dont have a clue

Lurchys = jumpy?

My CG also does this.

Check your chain, otherwise i have no idea. Because my chain was slacked badly so i assumed that was it (it was already on max ajustment).

Re: 'Lurchy' 125

What Sam said. it doesn't take a lot to get a light bike going, so once you feel the bite you're away, whereas bigger bikes take a lot more energy to get a bit of inertia going. You'll probably also notice you use a few more revs to get it underway.

A little off topic, but I Let Vickie loose up the drive on the SP yesterday , She's never ridden a bike before, lol. all she was doing was letting the clutch out on tickover in 1st, just to get the feel of a clutch bite. She did ok, and I didn't suffer a heart attack. Hoprefully she'll be in for her CBT sometime before christmas.
