| Re: ZZR Info Had a ZZR600 myself. In general terms it's a cheap bike to buy and run, insurance is reasonable, oil change every 4000 miles plugs filters and valve clearances you can get away with every 12000 without a worry. As long as you don't chase the redline you should see mileage figures over 45 mpg with ease. Had a lot of fun on mine. Things to check in particular with these General condition of the brakes. They work really well but only if they've been looked after. Discs tended to warp easily too. Chain adjusters were cheap and crap on these, check they haven't seized. Mild steel down pipes rotted easily. Try and find one with stainless replacements as these cost upwards of £200. Chain and sprocket sets of good quality are around £125. If you look after the chain they should last more than 10000 miles. Other than that Try and get the youngest cheapest one in the best condition. Post 97 bikes had an alarm fitted as standard. |
