![]() If it is at the front end..ie the front wheel/forks then it is either worn out brake pads or a dodgy wheel bearing... both are easy enough repairs... to check the pads simply look to see if there is any meat between the caliper and the disk..or pop a pad out. To check a wheel bearing out the bike on the centre stand and get a big mate to sit on the back so the front wheel is in the air. Then place one hand on the top of the wheel and one on the bottom and try to wobble the wheel.. there should be NO movement.. any movement indicates a knackered bearing. The clutch is not "front end", but rather pretty much below you ie part of the engine.. Normally as they wear they do not make such a niose. A simple clutch check is to run along say in second up a hill at 15 mph then open the throttle fully... if the clutch is on it's way out the revs will rise quickly and the speed only rise slowly. This is known as clutch slip, and can be adjusted out at first, but is a sure sign your clutch is getting a bit second hand HTH Last edited by jonnywombat : 09-26-2008 at 07:53 AM. | |
