wiring explanation needed

i have heated grips and have bought a relay. the only clues to what goes where on the relay is this diagram. can anyone explain this in simple term please

There you go matey, should be plain to see from this.
notice that the grips box has a ground on the other side, so your red wire from the grips will go to pin 87 and the black will go to earth.

You got them fitted yet then, or tested to see if they get hot ?

right then, they do get hot, so thats a good thing. but i cant get anywhere to mount the switch, the mount is circular so is probably supposed to go round a handlebar then tighten up, but there isnt space on the cats bars to do that, so im stuck.. im going out to look at it and scratch my head.that sometimes helps

Could you not mount it on the brake master cylinder like this ?

Either that or fashion some sort of fairing bracket ?
post a pic of the switch so we can see what you mean.

thats the grips fitted, and the switch did fit on the brake master cylinder. it could be better but it is on and and cant fall off, i have to go and collect the grandson now , so will try to get the job finished tomorrow
