Re: Ben McConnachie - Young British Prospect

I have just had this email from Gary Dawson this morning....

Quote:
Hi Nigel
I have read your forum posts and thank you so much for the proposal
we will do all we can at this end to help you with your forum for the help you are trying to give to support Ben.
Don’t get prices on stickers as I can get you what you want and as many as you want as a thank you Free of Charge, just let me have the design you require.

We will run a sticker on Bens Visor as well as the bike and transporter we will also mention you in all our Press releases and any TV Interveiws.
I will also add you to our Main Web Page which most Race and Track day Managers look at as we sponsor most of the Teams in Racing with either free stuff or trade discount.

We look forward to working with you and hope both Ben and your web site can benefit from your kind offer of help
Very Best Regards
Gary
This is great news as it means the FULL proceeds from the sale of the stickers can go towards Bens campaign.

Still more ideas needed for fund raising though.

Re: Ben McConnachie - Young British Prospect

That's a real nice response!!

A monthly general knowledge e-quizz with a biker theme.

Sell ticket for a forum non attendance rally or Christmas party (like RBLR have) with a hidden thread for only those who have bought tickets.

Raffle or auction a couple of tickets for a race day / racing event.

Fine members a quid a go for not turning up at mini meets wearing their screen printed t-shirts with the forum logo

Remember where's Wally? Well the Hoff has just done one 'where's the hoff' on his website how about doing a 'where's Ben'.

Speculate to accumulate - use some of the sticker money for funding some forum merchandise

and of course, Rerb could raffle his bike bike etchings

Re: Ben McConnachie - Young British Prospect

Oh yeah, almost forgot, what about a new/used/second hand e-shop?

Would have to be biker gear / parts with life left in it and for regular / senior members, it would only need someone to volunteer to co-ordinate it.

Re: Ben McConnachie - Young British Prospect

What I really need GB is someone to volunteer to help out with this. My time is at short supply at the moment with the new site etc..

I am also looking to revamp both the Bikeholic and Biker Cafe sites in the very near future so if anyone wants to put their name forward to help coordinate the fund raising it would be very much appreciated.

Re: Ben McConnachie - Young British Prospect

I'll volunteer to run a second hand shop if you like but other than that i don't have the time to take on anything else as I'm seriously considering taking on a second paid job

Re: Ben McConnachie - Young British Prospect

I wasn't asking you in particular GB, you already do enough on this site and others

Besides there is already a classified ads section on the site

Maybe someone else would like to get involved

Well done Spree mate, it's good to see a forum being ambitious, let's hope your efforts are rewarded.
I'm sure there are lots of members like myself that are unable to contribute their time but will try to contribute in other ways.
I've never really been interested in bike racing but this is definitely an incentive to follow a talented young racer.
