I drive a big wagon all day at 56 m.p.h. Thanks Brussells. That's why I need a fast bike, cos I pay my dues all day. Next time I'm in court, I might use that argument!

I posted zilch as my occupation earlier in the thread but its got worse than that since then
I've been shamed into working 2 half days per week for mrs deano (who is a visitor services manager for a national environmental/conservation charity) in one of her visitor centres/shops.
I'm now selling naff stuff like walking sticks, tartan blankets & shortbread biscuits to even older farts than meself

just for the record I ran a ltd co til 2003 fitting blinds & curtains in showhouses throughout the UK for wimpey, persimmon, barrett, bellway etc etc - yep I was a window deresser!

maintenance engineer in plastics and print, fixing and upgrading equipment that manufactures yougart pots, paper cups, drink containers, basically any plastic and paper cups and pots, love my job cause the cash is great

Think yourself lucky mate. When I used to drive artics back in the 1970's downhill in Scotsmans overdrive with a heavy load was the only way a heady speed like 56mph was possible.

Left the RAF after 22 years (15 of those on flight simulators) and started a new career as a techical author. Went self-employed about nine years ago and managed to keep the wolf from the door so far.

I have done all sorts, currently work for Connecting For Health on the Electronic Prescriptions Service, I have done over 12000 miles in the last 16 months and none on a bike, Not sure the suit would look good after a couple of hours in the saddle!
