What Got You Into MotorBikes ?

I was about 7 or 8 when I started loving Motorbikes my dad always had one and used to take me out on his , so was brought up on and around bikes when I was old enough I got my own and then so did my brother so we were a real biker family

I love riding much prefer that to any car there's just no comparison

well circa 1970, you were either a hippy, a skinhead or a biker (scooter boys were gay so weren't an option ) - no contest from an impressionable 14 year old's perspective cos I thought 5" tassled leather biker jackets were so the jacket came 1st.

I was quite happy tootlling around on scooters , I'd taken my restricted license, to ride the big scoots, then one day I went on the back of my brothers spanking new Thundercat and thought it was amazing. A couple of months later I blagged a go on it on my own, and the rush was out of this world. As soon as I could I got my first big bike and I've never looked back since. The rush has gone now cos I ride every day, but it gets me to work and back at least.

Ive always been surrounded by bikes, my Dad and his brother were always round at out house with BSA's, Ariels etc

I was both a skinhead and had a 650ss Norton when i was 17. Got into bikes through me dad, who still rides an Ariel 350, when i was young he always had Jags and that what i wanted and had no interest in bikes till he got a BSA Lightening and took me on that when i was 14. After one ride it was a case of stuff the jag, i NEED a bike,

Hey, I'm an EX Scoot tootler! Anyway, they're nothing to be ashamed of. I used to love leaving big bikes for dead through the rush hour traffic. Then when I saw them coming up behind me on a clear road, I'd take the first left I could so they wouldn't get the satisfaction of overtaking. A LOT of 'big bike' riders just can't filter for toffee.

My Dad always seemed to have a bike in bits but his mate was a mad keen biker and had several very shiny bikes I used to drool over when we went round

I guess it was more about freedom when I was 16, I lived in a small town and bussed it to school two towns over which I missed a fair bit due to not getting out of bed.

Got me a Honda MTX 50 (which my Dad collected from some 30 miles away, it took him a while to ride that home) and never caught the bus again. I hit 17 and upgraded to the GP100.
