Was mooching about the interweb, when I came across this article about a new take on the petrol engine...

Looks cool and if the claims are true then I wonder when we will see a scaled down version in a bike??

The cams in stead of a crank looks simpler, and should be easier to manufacture, and should be durable.

It's the four cylinder heads as opposed to 1 or 2 which at first glance would be expensive, and cause for concern, but at least the heads are "proven" technology so easier to get right and would not need as much r and d..

will have to see what happens, but imho the central cam arrangement is too elegant to not be used..

When I worked in engineering, Honda produced a prototype that looks almost the same as that. I had to bench test it with one of the companies pumps then strip it down to check for wear after a week of constant running. To me it looked fantastic. It was 250 cc with the physical dimensions of a much smaller engine. Honda decided to drop it without any explanation other than it not being feasible to manufacture at this time. That was about 25 years ago.

If this company manages to get it into production, I wouldn't be surprised if Honda where involved somewhere along the line
