my advice to you is to have a ride on a bike first, then start looking for one that you like, you won't be waisting your time then if you decide to choose a car

Very sensible advice mate. You might (for some unknown reason) think bikes aren't for you. It happens so I hear.

yeh ive only seen pictures too. hopefully i will pick something else up that looks as good as it but is realy cheap as i havent saved much money up yet and i still have to pass my tests... i know its not looking good for me and my biker dream

before you can go out on the road you have to do a CBT (assuming you have a provisional license) that will knock you back around £100, then if you take a riding course which includes your test, that will cost you £500 - £600, then there's the cost of a bike not to mention the riding gear - leather, it's not cheep

When you consider the cost of driving lessons, a car, insurance, tax etc though I'm sure biking is cheaper isn't it?

its a lot cheaper than getting a car especialy with the insurance and the maintanance, that was the first thing to attract me to bikes but i also remmeber my dad used to have a yamaha so i guess its in my blood

oh and i think ive decided i want a Yamaha YZF-R125 for my first bike if i can get a cheap second hand one.

Welcome to the forum

In answer to your questions

1, You need a provi with motorcycle entitlement.

2, It's got to be 125 or lower (until you pass your test).

3, as answer 2.

4, You make it what it is
