If anybody out there has any recommendations and/or buying tips I would be very grateful.

I need it for nipping into town (2 up) to save on parking costs and to avoid some of the short trips in the car, and for the odd shortish pleasure ride.
Requirements
-bigger than a 50cc with good pillion seat for a nervous pillion (the wife)
-something well engineered and reliable that won´t rust prematurely.
-good economy and decent power.

I have a budget of 1,000 pound- can I get something decent for this money?

Thanks in advance for any tips,
Mike.

You really should read each post in a thread cabin, it's now 11 days since polecat paid us a visit!

Also, maybe using the emails in here for business might be more appropriate

Re: anybody recommend a 125 scooter?

At this early stage in chinese bike manufacturing there are a massive amount of problems with any of them. They are constructed poorly and use inferior materials. Most of them are poor copies of established bikes. Just take a look around the web and see if you can find a good report (not including ones from dealers).

You would be much better off buying a secondhand japanese bike mate. Forget the chinese shite.

Re: anybody recommend a 125 scooter?

Oh and cabin crew, please don't advertise your bikes on my forum. I don't mind members promoting their business on the forum (most ask for permission first) and I was waiting for you to do it. You may think that they are great - I don't and I wouldn't want any part in a forum member or reader buying one.
