| Re: Cruiser or sports? The difference is one crusers have a longer wheel base, two a torquey v twin for power at low revs. they are designed to be able to ride through town and country all day without changing up or down, the long wheel base makes cornering a different experience to get your knee down and flash through the corner. think of a bus and a mini and youll get the idea. Ive riden both the legs forward is a bit disconcerting if your used to rearsets. but persiveer and youll feel the benifits. I love the red mist and adrenalin of the sports bike but some days you just goto chill so I have both. |

| Re: Cruiser or sports? It all depends what floats your boat, but there maybe a few useful tips from forum members. Quoted by Papasmurf in another post. Quote:
there seems to be too much stigma attached to the yank cruisers, (you will need, Fake weekend Tattoo, Eye patch, Lawman Back Patch and a permanent mean look on your face). There is absolutely no point buying a cruiser just on looks alone, it has to ride the way you prefer and suit your pocket.Lots of choices in the sports/touring class, many manufactures produce bikes that go well into the 50,000 - 100,000 miles mark, and most of them have pretty unbustable engines also endless tyre choice to suit your riding style. The worlds your oyster mate...... ![]() | |

| Re: Cruiser or sports? my latest bike is a st1100 pan european a pain to reverse but you dont realy notice the size when you moving and as for it being slow 120mph and not in the red built to do a lot of miles in comfort i did 500 on crappy lanes in the first two days biggest downside is that you dont realy feel that you on a bike i get more of a buzz doing half the speed on my gs500 road bike |
