| Just a quicky - Riding without an instructor Morning Guys. Since failing my practical test, and not being able to re take untill i get back from my holiday. A bloke (biker) from work mentioned about the rule about learning to drive a car. You can drive a car if there is someone in the passenger seat who is over 21, 3 years driving experience etc. The only thing i can find on the internet is you can ride a bike with an approved instructor with 3 years exp and in radio contact. When i searched for the explanation of approved, the below came up "The procedure and criteria for becoming a certified motorcycle instructor are as follows: ? you must be over 21 years of age ? you must have held a full British motorcycle licence (Category A) for a period of not less than three years ? you must be considered a ?fit & proper? person in respect of convictions motoring or non-motoring Generally instructors initially join an existing training body to become ?down trained instructors?. When they are sufficiently experienced most will then attend the Driving Standards Agency?s (DSA) training establishment in order to gain the Cardington assessment and then to become Direct Access (DAS) qualified." What do you think. I may be blinkered as i want to go riding. Does this read the way i think it does and says that as my father passes the above points he can take me out as long as there is radio contact. |
