XT125R or not...?

Well... I decided to get a Varedero (based on looks, and bulk to match me) but am thinking that if I fall off (likely, I guess) its gonna be an expensive topple. Then I thought the XT125R seemed to tick all the right boxes as it has a good deal of height (which I like) and, whilst I don't intend to take it off road, I guess its nice to have that option... as well as the added security of dual purpose tyres if I hit gravel/wet etc. Trouble is, the equivalent Honda also looks like a good bet... or maybe I'm destined to flounder in indecision until my CBT runs out. Please... am I on the right lines do you think?

Re: or not...?

If you are not planning to go off road then the dual purpose tyres just dont perform as good on the road as normal ones. The other thing to consider is that the Varadero is v twin engine as opposed to the Yamaha's single and will be smoother with a bit more grunt. Mainly though its down to personal preference and budget. If you can afford the Varadero then thats then one I would go for, but its been a long time since I rode any 125 bike

Re: XT125R or not...?

I'm sure the Varedero would make a far better road bike.

Re: XT125R or not...?

Climberowl, hi I just bought the Yamaha R125 with full size chassis and frame it handles really well. Fuel injection so no loss of pwer up hill and nice big fat sticky tyres to lay it over..... Regards Manky.
