Yea M8 I forgot about the cruiser type of bike, as 1357 says there are plenty of nice bikes of that type about. They tend to get looked after too

Re: Advice on 600 / 650 cc ?

Hi Andy,

Maybe the answer isn't a sports/tourer bike, have you considered a super-moto?? You can kick ass against sports bikes on the twisties. You have to be quite tall to ride them (like you are) and they are as comfy as you like. You can even put some knobblies on them and go off-roading in the winter (although maybe not with your back).

They are an absolute tonne of fun and it's almost impossible to die on one (unlike my sports bike).

Yours,
inline-four junkie.

Speaking with my National Association for Bikers with a Disabiity (NABD) hat on. I suggest getting a decent sized second hand bike and "bespoke" it it so it is comfortable for you to ride. (I have to wear a soft neck brace and wrist supports when riding a motorcycle.)
There a plenty of lower powered 900/1000 older bikes often shaft drive that have a more tradional sit up and beg riding position to suit your problems.
The only way to kill some of the old 750/900/1000 shaft drive Kawasakis is fire a 16inch gun at them.
(Older bikes are often far cheaper to insure for a newly qualified rider.)

Re: Advice on 600 / 650 cc ?

I currently buzz around on the commuter run on a 600 fazer s2...It does the job just fine, is very competent in every dept.. but feels exactly like my old j reg xj600 I had for years.. I am not too sure whether thats a good thing or a bad thing...

I liked the supermotard option.. You can find mz baghiras for not much fun.. and having ridden out with a guy on one for years I know that they shift up to about 80.. and handle the twisties as well as anything..
