Re: Best place to do CBT & DAS

Hi Paul, welcolm to the forum mate. As far as taking your DAS tou will need to take your Theory and Hazard Perception test first. These two are done at the same time and all using a computor screen(easy peezy, just relax). I dont know how it works where you are but the cost of this was included when i booked my DAS??? Anyway whoever you are taking your CBT with should let you know more details. And good luck with your CBT mate...Hope it stays dry for ya

All the best

Re: Best place to do CBT & DAS

Thanks Mo + Bumble Bee,

Have now booked my Theory test, got it on the 16th July. Not too long away.

Do you get the Theory Pass Certificate No. on the day you pass it?

Thanks

Paul.

Re: Best place to do CBT & DAS

Hi Paul, As Grotbag says you get the Theory and Hazard Perception certificate there and then (Oh by the way when you go for this you will need to take your licence and some form of ID.. Passport?). Same for when you go for your DAS you will need to take all these docs plus your CBT pass..Oh and make sure your brain is switched on cause the examiners are unforgiving.
All the best mate

Hi Paul

I am using Driving Test PC DVD-ROM, bought for my son when he was practicing for his theory test. It has tests for car and bikes, really good. I have my theory test on thursday evening.

Re: Best place to do CBT & DAS

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the advice.

Completed the CBT yesterday, didn't go as well as I'd hoped.

Didn't feel at all confident on the on-road section, was very nervous and made mistakes.

Not sure what to do now, not confident about carrying on with it all.

Paul.

Re: Best place to do CBT & DAS

Paul

Sorry to hear it didn't go well - however, if you say you completed it then I'm guessing you got your certificate - in which case the instructor can't have thought you were that bad!

I had the exact same experience myself when I did my CBT about a month ago - I would post a link to the thread, but don't know how to but if you use the search option and search for threads in my name (MaccyMoo) there should be one saying 'I got my CBT!' in there somewhere - It gives a whole account of the two times it took me to get mine.

Don't lose heart, one bad experience is just that. Give it another go and you might find it completely different - I know i did.

p.s. Just worked out how to put a link in to my post - here ya go!

I got my CBT!

With me, it's the way I was taught that was the problem - maybe you could try somewhere else?

say "cheese"

Re: Best place to do CBT & DAS

Thanks MaccyMoo,

I don't think it was anything to do with the instructor, he was great and very supportive.

Its just purely my lack of self confidence and the nerves taking over, I was fine until I went out on the road.

I nearly crashed into a car exiting a mini roundabout, I looked at the car on the junction before my exit and of course the bike started heading for it and I panicked. Didn't hit thank god, but stopped near curb.

I also kept stopping short of the line at junctions, which the instructor wasn't happy about. He gave me a final chance to get it right, fortunately I did.

The reason I'm not sure about carrying on is because I couldn't wait for it too all be over. Surely that isn't right.

Thanks

Paul.
