I think you will find that only works whilst the bike is insured by the owner as well.

Nope, my insurance covers me to ride any bike too under my own policy, no one elses. I only need the consent of the owner.

But you'll be the owner in this case. Don't you then have to specifically insure that bike?

Hiya Mikey

I got quotes off the net before I picked my bike up last week from Manchester and after I'd checked it out and agreed the deal I just rang em up with my reference number and was covered instantly

I suggest checking your policy VERY carefully with a magnifying glass.

Re: Silly question time..........again !

yep methinks papasmurf may be correct on this one? my understanding is that if you've got comprehensive cover on your own vehicle, then you're automatically covered 'third party only' to drive any other vehicle that
a) does not belong to you
b) is already insured by its registered keeper
c) has a valid MOT cert

though I'm far from sure

regardless, it'd be very unwise make any unconfirmed presumptions with regard to insurance

Even that is now an option on most policies. You need to read any documentation at renewal VERY carefully.

or add it to your current policy for an increased premium?
