| Re: What's wrong with a 250? When I had mine it was in the days of the FZR1000 Exup (the first single headlight ones) There was a lad called Ged who bought one and thought he was king of the bikers, I took him down the Stokesley road. Imagine the piss taking when he was beaten by a TDR250 and a ZXR400. There was a restored mint black one on ebay about 6 months ago, it went for well over 2.5K. Rarer than the proverbial rocking horse poo these days. |

| Re: What's wrong with a 250? Hi, I failed my das test twice and nearly gave up for good but gave it one last shot on a 125 and passed. Am now the proud owner of a kawasaki 250 and enjoying every minute, but then again was a late starter at 47 and 5' 4 and female! Might be my age but think theres a lot to be said for working ur way up in the power stakes. Only in my case I will be drawing my pension before I get to a really big bike ![]() |

| Re: What's wrong with a 250? I originally posted this topic earlier in the year when I was thinking of what bike to get. Now I have a Honda 600 I just thought give an update and say how glad I am that I took the advice of all those replies advising me to get a larger bike. As long as I appreciate the potential of the bike I feel relatively safe on it. It's well on top of what I want it to do - happy to trundle along within speed limits but there's acceleration there when I need it. The brakes are excellent and it has ABS - which I haven't needed yet but it's there in case. I feel it has a bit more 'presence' on the road and therefore more likely to be seen (he says in hope!) Passed on a 125 and looked at CBR 250. There was no difference in size to my 125. The guy in the shop took one look at me on the 250 & said I'm not selling it to you - it's too small. Went for the 600cc Fazer restricted. 100% better. More weight, more stability ( Its easier to ride than the 125 ) glad I listened to the guys on here and went for the bigger restricted machine. Easier to be at 70 mph and cruising than at 65 mph and struggling. | |
