Re: new bikers read please

Great advice.
I wanted to wait till I was 100% sure - before I waste my money over anything else! LOL.

[quote=indie;22355]must admit i did steal it
when i was younger i rode like a lunatic, i had several nasty crashes and they have left me with some nerve damage to my left shoulder, my left shoulder also sits slightly lower than it should, my left hip clicks and pops out slightly as i walk and every now and again my left knee causes me problems, ive had operations on all of these parts and its all now as best as its ever going to be, i just dont want other young riders or new riders, to end up like me, dont get me wrong i walk ok, i run, i can ride a bike ok but i know that the aches and pains i have now will get worse as i grow older[/QUOTE

Doesn't matter where you got it from indie, it's good advice....

Good advice Indie. You'd have to be a fool to ignore it. Mind, I didn't take my test 'till i was 30. If I'd passed when I was 21, I'd have thought "screw you grandpa" and gone straight out and bought a Hayabusa! ( I wouldn't have lived to see 22 )

Re: new bikers read please

My mate did 50cc -> 125cc -> 600cc -> 800cc and then -> 400cc.

Aprilia sr 50
Champ (motorcross bike from korea)
Kawasaki zzr 600
Suzuki intruder 800
Yamaha Diverson 400 (import? i think)

To be honest, i went on the back of all 5 and i love the zzr more than the rest, and i want one, but is going 125 to 600 a bit dangerous? 12bhp vs 100bhp?

Rob

Honda CG 125 CDI Import

Not dangerous as long as you're sensible. But if you are thinking it's scary then it probably will be to you, and therefore may not be the best choice. Personally I find that younger people (myself too, back in the day), want to go as fast as their next bike will let them, this is when accidents happen, I've got the scars to prove it. If you're fearful of getting a bigger bike, then don't do it. go for a 250 or a 400 and build your confidence up beforehand.

Passed test a month ago - albeit was riding bikes in the 80's. did the test just because it was changing in sept.... well having passed, i bought a honda hornet 600 2007 - but find it choppy in the wind on motorways
