No test dates available for the next 40 years!

I've just been trying to book my test online with no success. I've tried Gloucester, Cheltenham and Bristol, and the DSA aren't able to come up with any test dates whatsoever. I'll probably ring them tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone else was having the same problem given the test changes tabled in for September 29th.

I like my GX125 (GS125), but I do want to get on to something which doesn't almost have a heart attack when it even sees a hill

Re: No test dates available for the next 40 years!

I had this problem in my town (oddly enough, the nearest test date was December 29th... But after october, the tests are all going to be conducted 100 miles away from me so how does that work?) but I managed to get a test date in the town 10 miles over for 2 weeks, which wasn't so bad.. I hope you manage to find something!

Voidy, you just need to keep trying as cancellations allow you to book an earlier date. First test date I was getting was 10th Nov. Then I managed to book one in Sept although a little far from my place. I kept looking almost every day and finally I was able to get a date near to my place about 10 days away!

so good luck... keep trying....

Re: No test dates available for the next 40 years!

Greetings voidy and welcome to the forum

From what I've seen posted, all of the old tests seem to be booked up so maybe you should be looking at jumping into a cancellation?

As the new test centers are way behind, they are unlikely to be taking bookings if the centrers are not ready

There's quite a few thread's on the new test centres around the forum, this is the latest one Test centre "contingency plan". (video)

Re: No test dates available for the next 40 years!

Try some of your local bike schools. There are no tests available anywhere near me, but my instructors told me it's because the schools have block-booked them all!

Re: No test dates available for the next 40 years!

ok passed theory this morning - in and out within 20 mins lol hunted high and low for somewhere to book a test and the best i could get was kendal 35 miles away so reasonable really and they have tests available from now until the 2nd week in september! all on weekdays so will cost me a fortune in lost work but it has to be done! other than that there was one test in barrow in furness for this friday that was about it for north yorkshire/lancashire that i could see! Im booked in for 3rd sept to give me a chance to get an intensive course sorted so fingers crossed!

Re: No test dates available for the next 40 years!

Well done dave on the theory and good luck with the test

There's only one bike test route for Kendal - http://www.dsa.gov.uk/Documents/Test...e_31-34-36.pdf
