Re: MPG and Insurance

I have a Honda CG 125.

Top speed is about 80mph (but mine is an import, and UK spec will do 65mph).

It does about 80mpg (UK spec does 100mpg) and my insure, 3rd party, 17 years old, 1 claim and no NCB...£220.

UK spec is cheaper to insure...too.

And they draw the attention of older people rather than the police. They are quiet and nippy.

Or if you fancy something with a bit of power, Honda NSR 125, but insurance will be twice as much, but it goes over 100mph.

Some good advice there Rob......but it does come down to where your from, age, experience of driving(ie...car), where the bike is kept.

Re: MPG and Insurance

insurance is going to depend on a lot of different factors, where you live, engine size, any convictions,no claims discount, your age. best idea is to get some online quotes,, here https://bikeinsurance.tescofinance.c...PPC-TES-BKE-EP is as good a place as any to start, and mpg will depend on engine size, type of bike, youre weight.. my 125 would do about90 mpg at best, my 600 does 45mpg on a good day and 30mpg on a great day

Re: MPG and Insurance

Yeah, I got a quote of around 170 pounds for a PEUGEOT XP6 S BLACK,
(Yeah, forgot to mention 50cc )
Thats for third party.

So, do all 50's do about the same MPG?

Re: MPG and Insurance

Have a look on adrian flux (google it), they have information on quotes and policies on their site. Have a look at it, and you can see roughly what it will cost.

Re: MPG and Insurance

Shop around for insurance, use the comparison web sites and dont think that the big names will find u the best deals because in my experience the opposite is true. i had my 125 insured with bennetts and when I changed to the 250 they wouldn't quote me and wanted to charge me a cancellation fee on a policy that still had 5 months to run. When I told them I would just let it run out in due course thay got proper snotty with me.
