New Test Date Postponed Sorry if its been posted but Ive just found out new Practical Implementation date has been moved by 6 months see below from website = DSA - Extra time granted for new motorcycle test Extra time granted for new motorcycle test The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has announced a delay of six months to the introduction of the new practical motorcycle test, originally scheduled for September 29, 2008. The move comes after the Agency considered representations from the Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA), the Motorcycle Rider Training Association (MRTA) and other motorcycle interests. The new implementation date will now be Monday, March 30, 2009. The decision to defer implementation will allow the DSA to carry on delivering motorcycle tests from a wider range of centres whilst working with motorcycle groups and to find a suitable solution for providing the new test service in problem locations. Driving Standards Agency chief executive Rosemary Thew said: “Increasing road safety for motorcyclists has always been a top priority and it remains so. We listened carefully to the concerns put to us and this deferment acknowledges those concerns. “None of us has lost sight of the fact that the aim of the new motorcycle test is to improve road safety for this important group of road users. This extra six months will give additional opportunity to find extra locations that we need to deliver the new test and potentially address gaps in service provision which have been highlighted to us.” 11 September 2008 ![]()

re: New Test Date Postponed Tell me, I was gutted when I left the indicator on during mine, that and 1 minor. I was raging with myself cos I knew my retest would be the new one, which more training. Managed to pick up a 125cc so now I can practice with out the pressure and get it book. Will also save me money phoning all the time to see if there are any cancellations

re: New Test Date Postponed I lost out on all the ones i looked at, and the other well known ones went for way too much money. I got a chinese chugger - dont laugh - its not too bad, not the quickest thing but so far so good. Its a Jinlun ( best of a bad bunch - but hey its a bike and thats all that matters) I intend to get my test out of the way soon, so hopefully shouldnt have too long.

re: New Test Date Postponed Hopefully in 6 months time they'll have realised they've made a huge mistake and sacked the whole crock of sh**e! At least the pressure's off for those who have failed recently and thought they were going to have to sit the new test. ![]()
