Im looking for a decent 125.

Hi. Im looking to get another 125cc bike. What style bike is the best for learners? What will handle/turn best at low speeds(like doing U-turns).
Cheers

Re: Im looking for a decent 125.

I had a Honda Varadero 125. It was easy to handle ans physically not far off the same siae as the Fazer 600 I sold it for.

Not the quickest but great for learning

Re: Im looking for a decent 125.

i had a hyosung comet gt125 and found it to be great for learning on,it s a decent physical size and weight(same size as a gs500) and was stable at low speeds and handled great flat out, honda varadero is similar size and weight and being a honda will last forever, but the best thing you could do is to pop into some bike dealers and sit on as many bikes as you can and get a feel for what is i good fit for you

Re: Im looking for a decent 125.

Most seem to go for the sport replica's like CBR125, YZFR125, Aprillia125.
But if its just for learning on, there good ones that won't break the bank like dt125, kmx125, or if your short in the leg like myself, then the CG125, or the older version of the Nsr 125, go for not bad prices, check some out on Ebay.

Re: Im looking for a decent 125.

Had a Shadow myself, same engine as the Varadero but with cruiser styling which made it very low slung. It was apparrently heavy for a 125 but i never noticed it, but then i'm a big fella. It handled well enough to do U turns was very comfortable and mechanically was bulletproof.

I have to vote for the Honda CG but then I am somewhat biased If you're looking for a learner bike you wont find much better than this

Re: Im looking for a decent 125.

Go Japanese.

AVOID APRILIA / ITALIAN BIKES - they are not as reliable.

Honda CG 125 is most reliable.

Honda NSR 125 is the best compromise between reliablity and power.
