Re: Didn't get my cbt... gutted Welcome to the forum Sorry to hear about your bad experience, it was much the same for me. Though I must admit my training centre did have a policy of 2 students to 1 instructor (I wouldn't go with anything less, since you are paying for his time and if its split between 4 of you..). He came close to making me do it on a scooter, and I had to pay for another days worth of training, but in the end it all came down to practise and I got that certificate. Riding round a car park is invaluable btw, its much easier to learn clutch when not under so much pressure!Keep at it!

Re: Didn't get my cbt... gutted Hi DannyF I can highly recommend Leeds school of motoring (noticing you are only in Manchester), there were a few people who failed there, but they dont rush, and they are really nice people, and everyone I met there lived, ate, drank, and thought about bikes.. they really know their stuff, and they are really good in training. Once my CBT was over, I asked them how far off my full test I am and was told what I need to improve on, and told me I could do it in 3 days, but they advise 4 days. I trust them and will be booking my test for early Spring. ![]() EDIT: just noticed I plugged them earlier in the thread... this ok?

Re: Didn't get my cbt... gutted Hi, yep you're right that you're only allowed 2 learners out per instructor during the road section of the CBT but I don't think there's any limit to what's allowed in the carpark. I've now done my CBT 3 times with Bike Safe in Sheffield and can recommend them too . Had a different instructor each time but they were all brilliant. I've known some people not pass first time with them but the follow-on days are all included in the original fee. I'm now on my DAS at the same place - wouldn't go anywhere else! ![]()

Re: Didn't get my cbt... gutted Just to clarify, the instructor took us out on the road in pairs, two of us had to wait for him to get back with the other two. The only time he was trying to train all four of us at the same time was in the car park.

Re: Didn't get my cbt... gutted I have just passed my DAS, with the valley bike school Rossendale, I did a pre CBT on Saturday the 13th Sept, CBT on Sunday the 14th Sept, training in 17th and 18th Sept and passed DAS on the 19th Sept, a full license in less than 7 days, bearing in mind I had not ridden a bike in 20 years previous to my pre CBT. Give em a ring, they area very professional set up and they will sort you out. Dont give up Pete

Re: Didn't get my cbt... gutted Hi Danny, sorry you didn't get your CBT. as motorcycle trainers, if any student is having problems with clutch to gear ratio, we would never just assume that they will finnish on a scooter, we always ask them if they would like to change onto a scooter or come back another day (4 hours at no extra cost to student) to finnish the CBT, most ask to come back. we only train 2 students at a time per instructor and on the odd occasion, individual training. DSA don't stipulate that a CBT has to be completed in 1 day, but they do insist that every CBT follows the criteria that they expect. don't let this put you off learning, once you get the hang of it you'll wonder what all the fuss was about Last edited by bulldog63 : 10-02-2008 at 06:41 PM.
