I could do them all day on me old CG....but the big bike? It's all kerbs, kerbs, kerbs. Have only just stopped dreaming about them and passed me DAS a year ago. Got goosepimples thinking about it!

U-turns I can do spot on, no brake use and no feet down on either of my big bikes, but then I've always tended to bin smaller or lighter bikes because I'm more comfortable with a heavy lump under me.

My advice to anyone for the U-turn is simply use the throttle and clutch to control the bikes speed and look not where you are going, but where to want to go, the bike will follow.

It's that I don't KNOW I can do it; not in the same way as i KNOW I can do an emergency stop, negotiate slow moving traffic junctions etc. Some days its as easy as - er... falling off a bike. Other days its like trying to turn an oil tanker round in the local cut. When I follow the instruction to the letter (look up and back, keep revs on and ride clultch) often it works. But no way am I gonna put in for a test til I've got the sucker sorted. Anyone else with similar trouble/hang ups/cures/experiences... ?

We all have good day's and bad days, but the more you do it ok the more your confidence will grow until your doing the turn knowing your going to do it ......... rather than wondering if your gonna do it ok .... if you see what I mean!

In other words ............ practice makes perfect!

Some time's my mind doesn't only wander, it leaves completely ...........

True also - try doing a U-turn on an Aprilia RS125
