U Turn If You Want To... Hi All Started training on a 500 and it's all going rather well. But for one thing: The bloody U Turn. It's not that I can't do it... often I can. It's that I don't KNOW I can do it; not in the same way as i KNOW I can do an emergency stop, negotiate slow moving traffic junctions etc. Some days its as easy as - er... falling off a bike. Other days its like trying to turn an oil tanker round in the local cut. When I follow the instruction to the letter (look up and back, keep revs on and ride clultch) often it works. But no way am I gonna put in for a test til I've got the sucker sorted. Anyone else with similar trouble/hang ups/cures/experiences... ? ![]()

Re: U Turn If You Want To... make sure when you perform the turn that you look at where you are riding to i.e. the opposite side of the road and do not look down. The Bike will tend to go in the direction you are looking.

Re: U Turn If You Want To... I don't know why, but I can U-turn a big bike far easier than I can a small bike. On a friends 600 Bandit I had terrible trouble getting round, so much so I had to get off and walk the bike round! As you say climberowl, it's a case of keep the revs on and ride the clutch, piss easy on a big bike with more torque & power, but on a smaller bike? Forget it as far as I'm concerned, I simply can't do it. Keep at it, you'll get there in the end once you stop stressing about it ![]()
