My Volvo C70 came with some kind of water repellent already on the side windows, don't know what it is, but it don't half work well. Can't think why they don't use it on front and back windows though? I know with the Rain-X it has to be re-applied every month or so to keep it working well.

id have thought its not there as standard as you use your wipers alot and it would degrade the layer really quickly

Thanks for the tips. I am using my bike as day to day transport so out in the rain a lot, will try rain-x, and see how it goes.

Try a small inconspicuous area of the visor first to make sure its ok - with some plastics they advise not to use it. Try a dab out of your field of vision and leave it overnight. If no reaction, you're ok. Be careful what you buff it with - don't want micro scratches all over your visor - I usually leather off the water and just buff with a soft tissue, but you can do it with a soft lint free cloth.

Re: Stupid question-clearing rain off visors- what do you use?

I've just looked at what I bought from M&P and it is something called Rainaway.

Just received info about this from ebike
RAINCOAT - Water Repellent coating for visors and Shields
and for fogging
Fogtech - RiDE Best Buy AntiFog and NEW water dispersal treatment for visors
