| Re: 2008 Motorcycle Test I havent much experiance riding bikes no more than about a year and a 1/2, had near misses. ive only completed a cbt and my instructor was constantly telling me of certain situations and hazards that crop up, i nearly failed. as i kept going the wrong way all the time and leaving my indicators on. but i was checking my blind spot and i could ride my bike well enough. I see it like this you cant have your instructor on pillion 24/7 so the young/learner biker has L plates and youreither fortunate enough to comeoff be alright then get back on it and start to get your head around bikes and christian drivers. or you just have a nasty accident or get put off by them and other competent drivers -.- its a risk we all take yay! |

CBT = Cramming bike tasks! With hind sight I wished I had booked a days 'learn to ride a motorbike' lesson before going and doing my CBT, then maybe I wouldn't have cracked a rib and black and blue leg! Just too much to take in with a shared instructor in a couple of hours. Without my car driving (gears) and road experience (savvy), I know I would have failed it. As it is, the instructors want me to do another day on a 125 again and then decide what to do with me, I assume that's weather I would be able to handle the bigger bikes or not. | Re: 2008 Motorcycle Test ah so grot bare with me iam not a good reader :/ you havent passed cbt or practical? or am i just wrong and iam srry that you have or did crack a rib and hurt a leg . i had no practice really apart from riding my bike up and down the road was all and i luckily passed i never had dad around to show me which i find is the main reason alot of young lads get pushed into bikes. my real lesson on riding bikes was when i came off because i lent to much and just slid off luckily i just broke my indicators and bent my foot bracket and grazed my knee severely. hardcore... |

| Re: 2008 Motorcycle Test there is an article in this months Bike magazine about how bad cbt's are. being a Newb, it makes sense... they teach you bog all about the things you really need. Like for instance, if i went round a corner and a dirty big tractor was half way round, i'd die because a) i'd be too scared to brake because i don't know how to on a bend in an emergency and b) i'd panic and probably do jack all to avoid it! Read the article, its worth it for that article... ooh and the HP2 sport review. schexy |
