On the Triumph I'm a more sedate gentle rider who's happy sitting at 60/70/80. On the GPZ I become a nutter. | |

If at first you don't succeed buy a snipers rifle, hire a clown suit and climb a clock tower

| Re: Cruiser or Super-sports I am coming back to biking after a good number of years away, I have considered a number of different bikes including Harley's and sports bikes such as a CBR 600 but I have decided to go for a quite mundane XJ 600 diversion. The reason for this is because 1) I have not ridden for 12 years & 2) I need to get used to actually riding again before I get a fast, agile handling sports bike again. My advice is try a few out and decide which style will suit you best but for the first year I would not consider anything bigger than a 250cc bike. |

| Chris i'd go with the " how confident and how capable" theory when choosing your bike. Some people have told me "Not" to go for the Yam YZF R6R when I step up next year because i've been only riding the R125? Well I say Bol*&cks to that theory, if Can drive a car, ride horses & drive 7.5 ton lorries then It won't matter a jot to me. Bikes don't kill you, how you ride doe's. It's all about how confident you feel and what your caperbilities are mate, if you feel a bit intimidated by bigger more powerful bikes then go for something a bit smaller pal. In the past when I was a bit naughty I used to ride one of the old Honda 400/4's. Can't wait to do it properly and legally this time though... ![]() |

| Re: Cruiser or Super-sports I have been riding for 5 years now and have had 7 bikes, the only cruiser style bike I have had was an M800 last year which I had for less than two months before a Focus pulled out of a junction and wiped me out when I was doing 40mph. In my opinion there are so many variables when riding that the style of bike is only one of them. |
