Re: I feel apologetic for asking............ i wouldn't advise a 600RR as a first bike, defo the CBR600F though... and I'll advise a bandit 600 to anyone.... but I'd say the Yamaha Diversion 600 first.... LoL see if you can try out a cbr 600 once you've passed....

Re: I feel apologetic for asking............ Hiya mate...I'm a female who I think am not particularly strong..I ride a honda 600 hornet which I know is not really your type of thing as its unfaired but it's so easy to ride and will forgive lots of mistakes without chucking you off. We paid £900 for it so if I break it its not too much of a problem and its built up my skill and confidence a load so that when I'm ready for something else I've got the 'tools in the box' so to speak. I know looks are important but if you can stand it for a while I'd get something easy to ride so that when you're on your faired bike your riding's up to your image!!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: I feel apologetic for asking............ Hiya, I'm new to all this too and haven't done my DA course yet. After extensive research, I'll be looking out for a CBR600 as most on here have suggested. However, I am defo going to look at a Yamaha R6 too; they look superb... not sure if people rate them as highly as the Honda though. There's my 2-pennies worth for ya ![]()

Re: I feel apologetic for asking............ Hey Nat. I've just bought a CBR600F as my first bike and I think it's a great all rounder tbh. It's certainly fast enough, has the looks (ok - not quite as sexy as some of the competition, but still good) and is great for my commute. Because a lot of the power is in the high rev range if you knock it up a couple of gears you can pootle along calmly enough without being frightened of the power. Conversley you can knock it down and rev the proverbials off it. I didn't want anything too intense as I'm very inexperienced and it's ticked all boxes. The thing that sold it for me was stupid cheap insurance from DialDirect I got insured with no experience TPFT + pillion for £260!!!! For the exact same quote with the same company the 600RR was over a grand as were all the other sports bikes.
