Ey Up!!

Hi all,

Im Rick from Manchester...YES another Northern Monkey lol

Just stumbled across this place via Google!

Ive just bought a Varadero 125, due to pick it up on Thursday when i take my CBT...CANNOT WAIT!!!

Used to ride 100s & 125s over 15 years ago (Im 36 now), but they were far too small in size for me.
Been thinking about getting a bike again for a while now and the fact that they are building bigger bikes for chaps like me (6'5 and 17 stone) just closed the deal for me.

I understand the CBT is more of an evaluation more than a test, but i understand i need to demonstrate a certain level of ability with the bike ie basic handling etc...anyone got any tips?

Re: Ey Up!!

Thanks for the advice so far and thanks for making me feel so welcome. I intend to have a good time on the CBT, and listen & take note of what the instructor is saying.

Gonna enjoy riding again, gonna spend the next 6 months getting a feel for riding again and then look at passing my test to progress to a bigger machine.

As for what I will progress to if all goes well with the Vara I dont know, but I do like cruisers, but as ive been reading its finding one that will fit a 6'5 bloke without making me look like a clown, the more stretched out riding position on some cruisers must help the height thing on the right bike I would imagine?

Re: Ey Up!!

Howdy Rick,
At 6'5" maybe a Triumph Tiger would fit the bill, enjoy the Vara for a while first mind

Re: Ey Up!!

Welcome to the forum mate. I've just returned to bikes after 18 years driving a cage. It's great to get some fresh air after driving a recovery truck all day.
