newbie.. born again sorta..

hi all, names jim, 42, just bought a harley 1200 sportster
been into bikes since i was 8 , had all sorts, fs1-e cb, nsr, rd, x7 , rgv, gs, z, gsx-r , etc etc etc .. up to the fzr600 and the blade.. (1995 )
gave em up a few years ago until last week,
was passing a dealers, and spotted a harley 1200..

bought it, explained myself later over tea, wife thinks im on a deathwish,, kids think i,m haveing a mid-life crisis.

lol i have, thats why i married her, ( or more likely she had a sense of humour, or a head injury at the time. ) lynda,s not a biker anymore, since her accident in 1992 , when she was knocked off her xj900 and smashed her knee up.
Tho she still likes bikes,bike racing etc and has informed me that she may even go on the back of the harley.
I think if i had bought a blade or gixer tho.. that would of been another story!!

honest guv !!! no- really, i was parked up in my lorry, waiting to be tipped and it was one of those " well, i,ll just have a look" moments. dealer offered me a test ride, lent me a jacket and lid, 10 mins later i,m smiling like a cheshire cat , thinking i,m 18 again , and preparing my list of excuses. and £3.5k lighter
( i have been informed by the wife that this decision is going to cost me a holiday in sept )
