Talking Return to biking

Hello all. I have returned to 2 wheels after 26 years in a car and have jumped straight back on a gsxr750 K6 that I love. The power, the looks, the sound, the confidence it gives on the bends etc. Its a great great bike.

I've had it a month and it took some getting used to from my old Yam RD400 but I'm getting there. Its a totally different animal as you'd expect after this length of time.

I still ride it like I drive my car at times but am getting used to filtering through traffic and getting to the front at traffic lights if there is space. I do take a relaxed view of getting past trucks and cars as when the road is clear there is lots of power to rush me past.

The lean angle is increasing but I'm way off knee down at the moment.

Most of my time is spent with my oldest son on the back looking for rides in north notts, mainly going over to Matlock which has the greatest concentration of fish & chips shops I've seen. My girlfriend lives 140 miles away near Redcar in the north east which has fewer chippies and its on the coast !!

I'm planning a trip to see her going up the smaller roads rather than A1 probably calling at Whitby on the way up. If anyone has a good route to Whitby it would be appreciated.

I commute on the bike a couple of times a week which is an 80 mile round trip each time but its flattening off the tyre on the A1 so its not good.

I'm off work all of august so am looking to put some miles under my wheels and will be pushing the lean and maybe getting the front wheel up a bit more.

Its great to be back !!!

Re: Return to biking

Welcome matey Nice bike. You sound like a sensible sort of chap. Don't worry about the knee down thing, I gave up trying years ago, it don't make you go any faster!
