Smile Danny From Liverpool

Hi all, hope you can help me, my restriction period is almost up and im deciding on an SV650s or a ZZR6, which one would you suggest and why?

Iv had a ride on a number of big bikes, including my old mans ZXR1100, and dont want to go that big for my first bike for obvious reasons, (i.e. i will probably kill myself)!!

Oh and also does this site do sales from other members or is it just solely a forum? Not a big deal but

Thanks in advance for welcoming me and answering

Cheers

Hi Danny and welcome The SV is a good first bike, but just 'cos it's a smallish bike, it doesn't mean you can't get hurt or worse on it. I had so many near misses in the first few months of biking, 99% of them not my fault. It takes a while to get that '6th sense', there are so many blind arseholes on the roads!. It''s very important that you take it easy. Here's hoping you have many happy accident free years of Biking.

Re: Danny From Liverpool

Hi Danny and welcome. Gaz had an SV650 and loved it, but has been riding a long time and swapped it for something bigger. I had a 600Hornet just after I was out of my restriction and an ER6n and loved them both. They had plenty of stomp and are easy to handle.
Only got rid 'cos my back dictated that I needed a bike where I was more upright so went back to SLR650.

Niki & Gaz

Monday morning..........let the stress begin !!

Hiya Danny & welcome....Mr LC had a ZZR for his 2nd bike and liked it. I've written about it on another thread somewhere (Grotbags might be able to find it if you ask her).
Good luck and enjoy searching. And take it easy y'all.

Hi Danny, welcome to the biker forum mate. Just up the M62 from me

The bike choice is a bit difficult to call as they are both completely different. The kwak would be a bit faster but the SV would be nimbler. The other thing is that both bikes will feel completely different as one is a V twin and the other an inline four. If you get chance, try them both out because at then end of the day its going to be down to personal choice.

To be honest, any of the 600s will do the job.

Thanks for the advice Blackpanther, thats my biggest worry, nobheads not looking, but im sure to take it easy as my older bro and old man ride and have done for many years and theyve warned me and warned me so you warning me is adding to the sub-consious to tell me to watch out for the arseholes.

Hey Spree, so close to home. I realised that and was thinking to try and test-ride both, but is there any way i could go to a dealer and ask them to ride their bike (if they had one of course) without committing to buy the bike?
