Re: Hello!

Greetings Athram and welcome to the forum

When you say "I cant wait to take my test at 16 and start riding" I assume your talking about your CBT?

Have a look around the place as there's loads of info, especially in here New rider information - The Biker Forum and a lot of 'silly' questions have already been asked and answered in here New Bikers - The Biker Forum if you can't find what your looking for then just ask!

Re: Hello!

I don't know if I should be encourging this but...one of the most valuable lessons I've learnt in life is sometimes it's better to apologise than ask permission

I am in a different position to you that I'm 22 (23 soon) and my parents can't actually stop me doing something, but I knew they would be REALLY angry!

So I took my CBT and started taking lessons, and THEN told them what I had done! they went mad but I assured them I'm a very safe rider on the roads, then when they start moaning I said "See, THIS is why I feel like I can't tell you anything, you don't support me" so I managed to flip the conversation around from asking for permission to showing them that I have to do things behind their back because I feel unsupported.

They have now converted and are paying for my DAS - how's that for a transformation!

I'm not encourging you to lie to your parents, but as every NON biker will tell you a horror story and tell you how your stupid to do it (it is dangerous, but just be careful) this is a tough thing to convince people who love you to let you do
